When FedEx purchased several companies from Roadway, Inc. there was a need to relocate many mainframe and midrange services from the Roadway facility to another facility in a short period of time
while remaining within budget. The project was quoted by IBM, EDS and BABT. BABT was awarded the contract and not only met the strict and ambitious deadline of
90 days for complete transition, but also kept the project within budget guidelines.
Some of the BABT responsibilities for FedEx mainframe, mid-range and open system
environment included the following:
- Facilities Management
- 24x7 Operations
- Production control and scheduling
- Tape operations and administration
- Print output operations
- Hardware support
- Technical support
- Telecommunications Monitoring & Support
